The restaurant
On a cobbled street in Penha de França, Garrincha occupies the space of a former tasca — a long room with a counter on one side and tables on the other — and is the first restaurant of the chef who leads it, with his partner also in the kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate.
The cooking is rustic yet creative, Mediterranean at heart with Israeli and Middle Eastern inspirations, and is built on quality local produce. The menu changes daily, depending on what arrives, with a focus on sustainably caught fish and shellfish and on vegetables.
The wine list is one of the most distinctive in the city: close to 150 labels, mostly from natural and biodynamic producers, from Portugal and beyond. Time Out gave it four stars and named it one of the best-value restaurants in Lisbon.

Adam Denis
An Israeli chef who, after working in fine-dining kitchens in France and Germany, chose Lisbon to open his first restaurant, where he brings together the tradition of the old tascas with simple, refined cooking inspired by the Mediterranean and Israel.
