The restaurant
Opened in September 2025 on the ground floor of the Lisbon Chiado Hotel & Spa, with its own space and identity, Broto is the project with which Pedro Pena Bastos swapped haute cuisine for Portuguese cooking that is closer and more accessible, without setting technique aside. The dining room, with around 50 seats, has terracotta walls, ash tables, a bar at the entrance and a communal table.
The menu has no fixed dishes or tasting menu: it changes with the seasons and is made with Portuguese producers, with the Alentejo and the chef's family roots always present. It reinvents everyday cooking from memory and traditional gestures, with the produce at the centre and technique applied with precision and a light touch.
Awarded one Sun in the Repsol Guide 2026, Broto serves lunch and dinner every day.

Pedro Pena Bastos
He spent five years at the helm of Cura, at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, where he won and kept a Michelin star, after stints at Ceia and Esporão. Recognised by The Best Chef Awards, he opened Broto in 2025 to create «free-spirited Portuguese cooking».
